Güzelyurt is a city which was said to have been founded for the goddess Aphrodite by the Sparta people who immigrated from Greece in the ancient period in the North-West of North Cyprus. Located in the middle of Kyrenia, Lefke and Nicosia cities, Güzelyurt is the most efficient place in terms of citrus production and meets the majority of the orange exports of the island with its view of Troodos Mountains and its mild weather. In this regard, the Orange Festival is held every year. Güzelyurt is a city where many fruits and vegetables such as watermelon, melon and pomegranate are grown and different plant species that belong to Cyprus Island. Beside these natural beauties, Güzelyurt hosts important monuments in the history of the island such as Soli Antique City, Vuni Palace, Tumba Tu Skuru, Church of St. Mamas.
